Annual Events

The Saugeen Golf Club is pleased to offer a variety of events throughout the golf season. Below is a list of these events along with a brief description, and a link to their entry forms and flyers. Please be aware that the entry forms and flyers will be added as they are created throughout the 2010 season.

 

4-Man Spring Open Scramble

May 16th 2010

NEW IN 2010!!!  The Spring Open has been modified for the 2010 season, moving away from the 2-Man format. This 27 hole event will be one of the biggest events of the year with a maximum of 54 teams, or 216 players. The format is a 4-Man scramble, and there are two categories for the day. The first category is an open handicap where you can bring whom ever you choose, including golf professionals, with no limitations to handicaps. The second category has a limitation of one player under 5.0 handicap index and will have up to three flights. Click on the links below to print off your registration form and flyer.

 

May Long Weekend Members Yard Sale

Golf for Cancer

May 29th 2010

The annual golf for cancer golf tournament and head shave will return on May 29th, 2010. For those that wish to golf, please click on the links below to print off your registration form and flyer. If you are interested in becoming involved in the annual head shave, please contact Rose Myers at the Saugeen Shores Police Department.

 

27 Hole Senior 2-Man Format Invitational

June 11th 2010

NEW IN 2010!!!! The 2010 season will see the return of the Senior Invitational, in a brand new way. This unique event will now become a 2-Man event, played as a format tournament, which will include nine holes of best ball, scramble, and alternate shot. The day will include breakfast, lunch, and light appetizers following play. The only stipulation for your team is that you must have a total of 20.0 for your index or greater. 3rd Annual Golf Triple Play

June 24th 2010

This unique event is played at three different golf courses over the day including the Saugeen Golf Club, Chippewa Golf Club, and the Links at Piper’s Glen. You start off the day by having breakfast at the local sports complex, where you are then shuttled to one of the courses, followed by lunch and a shuttle to the next course, followed by a shuttle to the last course followed by dinner back at the Plex. This great event is in support of the Saugeen Shores Community Fund.

 

Ladies Golf "Fore" A Cure

June 18th 2010

This great event, in support of breast cancer research, will become an 18 hole event in 2010, and will include lunch, on course snack, and dinner following play. The day is filled with on-course skills competitions and is followed by a variety of fun activities that includes the annual golf ball toss. Parent Child Golf Day

July 11th 2010

Bring your child out for a great day of golf and experience the joy of a great shot made by your junior golfer. This great event is a 9 hole, alternate shot with prizes and a great meal for all. Jeff Preston Charity Golf Tournament

July 15th & 16th

The Jeff Preston Golf Tournament in support of Muscular Dystrophy Research has now raised over $1,000,000 and would love to have you be apart of another great event in 2010. Click on the links below for more details regarding this years event.

This 4-Man , 27 hole scramble boasts one of the best prize tables of the year with over $10,000 in prizes. The only restriction is that each team can have one player under 5.0 handicap index.
